I'm going to do a separate post on this general topic, but yes, the daily email is somewhat important for engagement, in my opinion.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04081925492486284973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7319036.post-86876682237554388822010-10-12T04:40:24.475-05:002010-10-12T04:40:24.475-05:00I personally find the daily digest newsletter by S...I personally find the daily digest newsletter by Summify one of the most useful features of the siteUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04312190451346309295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7319036.post-91897799264923161272010-10-12T04:39:18.420-05:002010-10-12T04:39:18.420-05:00I personally find the daily digest email by Summif...I personally find the daily digest email by Summify one of the most useful features of the site.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04312190451346309295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7319036.post-8945245151302837612010-10-11T20:56:21.930-05:002010-10-11T20:56:21.930-05:00Hey, Steve! ...Hey, Steve! Thanks for taking a look at Summify!

I really liked your thoughts on Twitter as a protocol. What excites me the most is that, compared to RSS, Twitter makes it a lot easier to gauge the "hotness" and relevancy of a particular news item. This applies to Facebook too.

You're right in that there's currently no way to filter out RSS stories in Summify. However we do encourage people to add their Google Reader and Facebook accounts anyway.

The ranking algorithm scales and improves in quality as you put more data into it. In fact, Summify is kind of liberating in a way. You don't have to think twice before subscribing to a new feed or following somebody on Twitter. That's because you won't have to sift through all the crap to find the occasional gem.
This has always been a problem with RSS. No matter how snappy the UI is, how well you organize your feeds and how efficient your title scanning technique, it becomes a drag eventually.

One thing that was really nice about RSS, and you mention it in your other post, is not having to leave the application in order to see the content. We felt that was an important part to the news reading experience and should be "ported" to Twitter.Cristian Strathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09862096665153191565noreply@blogger.com
