Italian Bamboo

Until last week, I wasn't aware that bamboo grew in Italy. But there's a lot of it, all over the place in Northern Tuscany.

Q: How did it get there?

A: On the same boat as spaghetti, with Marco Polo. (even though this is now disputed on Wikipedia).
